RESCHEDULED: MARTA TO
PARTICIPATE IN WORLDWIDE EFFORT HIGHLIGHTING NEED FOR PUBLIC PARK SPACE
PARK(ing) Day Event Planned at Lenox Square
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid
Transit Authority (MARTA) is a proud participant of PARK(ing) Day activities in
Buckhead that have been RESCHEDULED for Friday, Oct. 1. This worldwide
event temporarily transforms parking spaces into public parks or displays of
art and community to call attention to how public space is created and
allocated.
As part of Livable Buckhead’s PARK(ing)
Day, MARTA will transform three parking spaces at Lenox Square to highlight
several of its non-transit-related programs that make use of public space such
as StationSoccer, Fresh MARTA Markets, and MARTA’s public art program,
Artbound. The engaging green space will feature live music, fresh
produce, and the opportunity to test your soccer skills.
