Jonathan J. Hunt, Esq. is proud to serve as Interim General Manager/CEO of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Jonathan is a regular rider of MARTA and uses this time to help him connect with customers, observe the transit system, and make systemwide improvements. Prior to serving as Interim GM/CEO, Jonathan was MARTA’s Chief Legal Counsel. He holds several leadership positions within the industry, among them Chair of APTA’s Legal Affairs Committee.
Prior to joining MARTA, Jonathan served as the Assistant City Attorney with the City of Atlanta. While with the City, Jonathan represented, among other concerns, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – the world’s busiest airport. Additionally, Jonathan practiced law for six years with the firms of Dentons US, LLP in Atlanta and Baker Hostetler LLP based in Cleveland, Ohio. Jonathan was also in-house counsel for Limited Brands, Inc., where he served as primary counsel for Victoria’s Secret and Intimate Beauty Corporation advising senior and executive management. Prior to law school, Jonathan served as a lead Project Engineer for Gilbane, Inc., an international construction management company.
Jonathan received an undergraduate degree from Hampton University and a Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University Schools of Law and Management. While at Case Western, Jonathan was named the first Baker & Hostetler Paul D. White Scholar and was the recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Award.
Jonathan is married to Ashanti T. Hunt, Esq. and together they have a son, Jonathan J.
