RIDER ALERT
Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, MARTA is increasing long-term parking rates by $2 per day (from $5 to $7 or $8 to $10) and reducing the free daily parking in those facilities from 24 hours to 14 hours. This affects all paid long-term parking locations. Free daily parking locations are not affected.
The last time MARTA increased parking rates system-wide was in 2009.
Stations increasing to $10 per day (after 14 hours):
- College Park
- Doraville
- Lindbergh
- North Springs
Stations increasing to $7 per day (after 14 hours):
- Dunwoody
- Kensington
- Lenox
- Medical Center
- Sandy Springs
Why are long-term parking policies changing?
- It helps recover the cost of recent upgrades to our automated parking facilities system-wide. New gates, payment kiosks, payment technology, call boxes, license-plate readers, and lighting have made it faster and more convenient to park at our stations since 2024.
- It supports future upgrades to better lighting and other security measures in our parking facilities.
- It brings MARTA’s rates closer to market conditions for private parking facilities near its stations. Rates remain well below market rate for the Airport area and business districts.
- It positions MARTA’s parking operations to be self-sufficient in the future, without relying on funding from other sources like fares and tax revenue.
Parking Procedures
Many of our stations have daily and long-term parking options for MARTA customers. If you leave your car at one of our parking lots for fewer than 24 hours, then you don’t have to pay a thing. When you enter the lot, you will receive a parking ticket from the ticket dispenser. Hold onto your ticket and on your way out, present the ticket to our ticket machine and exit. It's as simple as that!
Free Daily Parking
If you park for less than 24 hours, take your ticket with you on your trip and simply present your ticket at the ticket machine upon exit for free parking.
Long-Term Parking
We also have long-term parking options if you need to leave your vehicle in one of our lots for longer than 24 hours. We charge $5.00 for long-term parking at Dunwoody, Medical Center, Kensington, Lenox and Sandy Springs stations. Long-term parking costs $8.00 for every 24-hour period at College Park, Doraville, Lindbergh and North Springs stations.
Parking Payment Options
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and cash (at the pay on foot machines), but we do not take checks. We also charge for part days.
