PEACHTREE CENTER STATION ROLLING ENTRANCE CLOSURES BEGIN MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2026
Both Elevators, at Least One Entrance on North and South End to Remain Open

ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is making improvements to Peachtree Center Station in advance of this summer’s World Cup that will involve temporary rolling entrance closures beginning Monday, March 30, 2026, through late May. Both elevators and at least one entrance on the north and south end will remain open. Customers should follow signs to open entrances and listen to station announcements.

Monday, March 9 – late May: Restrooms closed for renovations.
Use restrooms at nearby stations to the north (Civic Center, North Avenue, Midtown) or the south (West End).

Monday, March 30 – Friday, April 17, 2026 (estimated): Southeast entrance (Streetcar stop side near Georgia Pacific building) closed. Southeast elevator remains open.
Cross Peachtree Street to use southwest entrance (library side) unless elevator access is needed.

Thursday, April 9 – Friday, April 24, 2026 (estimated): Northwest entrance (post office side) closed. Northwest elevator remains open.
Cross Peachtree Street to use northeast entrance (food court side) unless elevator access is needed. The post office will remain open. 

Date dependent on previous phase: Southwest entrance (library side) closed.
Cross Peachtree Street to use southeast entrance (Streetcar stop side near Georgia Pacific building). Southeast elevator remains open.

Date dependent on previous phase: Northeast entrance (food court side) closed.
Cross Peachtree Street to use northwest entrance (post office side). The street entrance to the food court and retail shops will remain open.

Improvements include:

  • Escalator repairs
  • Granite repairs
  • Pressure washing
  • Deep cleaning
  • Repainting with a graffiti-resistant coating
  • Drain cover replacement
  • Full replacement of restrooms with “smart” remote access, new fixtures, and surfaces that are easier to clean. 

Future rehabilitation work is planned at Peachtree Center and information will be shared once available.

This project is a part of MARTA’s multi-year, approximately $1 billion Station Rehabilitation Program designed to improve and enhance safety and aesthetics at all 38 rail stations.
