TAKE MARTA TO JUNE 27TH
COPA AMÉRICA MATCH AT MERCEDES-BENZ STADIUM
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid
Transit Authority (MARTA) is the safest, most efficient way to
travel to the Copa América match between the U.S. and Panama on Thursday, June
27 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. MARTA will provide additional rail service to get
fans to and from the match quickly and safely.
Traffic in Atlanta
is expected to be heavier than usual Thursday evening due to the soccer match
and the Presidential debate at the Turner Broadcasting campus in Midtown. The
U.S. Secret Service is expected to direct lane and street closures near the
campus, with the potential for rolling roadblocks on the Downtown Connector.
MARTA Providing
Additional Rail Service
Mercedes-Benz
Stadium opens at 4 p.m. for the 6 p.m. match. This falls during MARTA’s peak
evening service hours, with a train arriving every 6 minutes between Lindbergh
Center and Airport Stations on the Red and Gold Lines and Ashby and Candler
Park Stations on the Blue and Green Lines.
Before the match,
MARTA will run a shuttle train between Five Points and GWCC/CNN Stations to
accommodate the increase in ridership and after the match, provide extra rail
service with trains arriving every 7 to 10 minutes.
