MARTA CELEBRATES ATLANTA’S
CULTURE AND COMMUNITY WITH RIDE WITH RESPECT CAMPAIGN FEATURING NUFACE
Campaign brings together
Atlanta hip-hop culture, civic pride and public transit to encourage mutual
respect across the region
ATLANTA
– The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is partnering with
NuFace, an Atlanta hip-hop historian and cultural ambassador, to celebrate the
culture, music and history that make Atlanta unique through its ongoing Ride
with Respect campaign. The campaign encourages residents and visitors to take
pride in their city, respect one another and help create a better experience
for everyone who rides MARTA.
Watch NuFace’s story to
discover how MARTA connects people to the culture, communities and
opportunities that make Atlanta special.
NuFace
became a regular MARTA rider following a personal setback that led him to
discover the value of public transportation. Since then, MARTA has remained his
go-to way to get around Atlanta. Through his platform, he represents the city’s
rich hip-hop culture while encouraging people from all walks of life to ride
public transit. Riders have even shared on social media that NuFace inspired
them to take their first ride on MARTA.
NuFace’s
participation also aligns with MARTA’s upcoming My MARTA Story series,
which will highlight the personal experiences of people whose lives and work
intersects with transit. His story illustrates how an unexpected life change
can lead to a new perspective on public transportation and inspire others to
give MARTA a try.
“MARTA,
and public transit in general, is about more than getting from one destination
to another,” said MARTA General Manager and CEO Jonathan Hunt. “It’s about
connecting people to the communities, culture and opportunities that make
Atlanta special. Through our Ride with Respect campaign, we’re proud to work
with cultural ambassadors like NuFace to encourage civic pride, promote respect
and remind riders that we all play a role in creating a welcoming transit
experience.”
“MARTA
became part of my everyday life, and I’ve seen firsthand how public
transportation connects people to everything Atlanta has to offer,” said
NuFace. “Whether you’re a longtime rider or taking your first trip, respect the
city, respect each other and respect the ride. If my story encourages even one
person to try MARTA for the first time and say, ‘I was there, just like
NuFace,’ that’s a win.”
The
campaign builds on MARTA’s previous collaborations with Big Boi and David
Banner, using music, hip-hop history and personal storytelling to celebrate
Atlanta and encourage respectful riding.
Campaign
messages include, “Atlanta, Where Culture, Music and History Move Together,”
“Atlanta Isn’t Just a Place You Visit. It’s a Story You Step Into. MARTA Is
Part of My Atlanta Story,” and “Respect Our City. Respect Each Other. Respect
the Ride.”
The
campaign will appear across MARTA’s digital platforms, stations, trains, buses
and social media channels throughout the region.
Hardman Creative Group, an Atlanta-based,
veteran-owned creative agency, led the filming and creative direction for the
Ride with Respect campaign.
