MARTA DRIVE YOU TO LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVENTS
ATLANTA – The
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is the safest, most
efficient way to travel to Labor Day weekend events scheduled for Thursday,
Aug. 28 through Monday, Sept. 1., including Dragon Con, the Aflac Kickoff
Classic, and Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival. MARTA will provide extra rail
service on Saturday and Sunday and deploy additional staff and police officers
to high ridership locations to assist customers.

restrooms are available at 16 rail stations. SMART restrooms are open from
6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Decatur, Doraville, East Point, H.E. Holmes,
Lindbergh, and GWCC rail stations.
- Due
to construction, Five Points Station may be accessed on Forsyth and
Peachtree Streets only. Restrooms and customer services at Five Points
are temporarily closed.
KEEPING YOU SAFE:
As it does for all large events, MARTA will have extra staff and safety
measures in place throughout the weekend.
- Crowd metering
at high-ridership stations with barricades and signs reminding customers
to keep distance and board escalators one at a time.
- Station staff and MARTA police
at high ridership locations to help manage crowds.
- Load and Go teams
on station platforms to assist with boarding and unloading.
- Escalator and elevator teams
from MARTA and Schindler at stations and in the Emergency Operations
Center, ready to respond if needed.
- EMS personnel
at key stations to provide immediate medical support.
RIDER ETIQUETTE – RIDE WITH RESPECT:
- Stand
clear of train doors and allow riders to exit before boarding.
- Board
escalators one at a time and hold the handrail.
- Keep
bags, strollers, and costumes clear of train doors.
- Follow
staff instructions and be patient during high ridership events.
- Respect
fellow riders by practicing Ride with Respect so everyone can enjoy the
weekend safely.
