WORLD CUP CLOSING CELEBRATION AT PIEDMONT PARK
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit
Authority (MARTA) is the safest, most reliable way to attend Showcase Atlanta’s A Celebration of Soccer & Sound, a free festival closing out the city's historic
summer as a World Cup host city on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. until 8
p.m. in Piedmont Park.
MARTA will provide
enhanced service for the event and deploy police officers and Transit
Ambassadors throughout the system to assist customers. Riders can tap to pay at
rail station faregates with a bank card, mobile wallet, virtual Breeze card in
Apple, Google, and Samsung Wallets, or with a physical Breeze card.
Operations
Increased Rail
Frequency: Additional trains
will be put into service to move crowds safely and efficiently. MARTA Load and
Go teams will be on train platforms to assist.
Rapid Response Bus
Fleet: Buses and Mobility
vans will be staged in Midtown to provide additional transportation in the
event of rail service disruptions.
Key Rail Stations: MARTA encourages Northbound riders to exit
at Midtown Station and enter Piedmont Park at Charles Allen Drive. Southbound
riders should exit at Arts Center Station and enter Piedmont Park at Piedmont
Avenue NE. Map attached.
Safety & Security
MARTA Police officers
will patrol trains, platforms, stations, buses, bus transfer hubs, and parking
lots. Officers in the Real-Time Center will monitor the system through a
network of over 12,000 cameras, and officers will be stationed in the Mobile
Command Vehicle positioned in Midtown.

MARTA Transit
Ambassadors will be deployed systemwide, with a focus on Midtown, Arts Center,
Lindbergh, and end-of-line rail stations. Look for staff in white MARTA-branded
soccer jerseys.
Ride With Respect
Customers are asked to
respect the law, the MARTA system and each other while riding.
- No alcohol or open containers. Water is allowed in
resealable containers.
- No open food. All food must remain in packaging.
- No smoking, vaping, or use of e-cigarettes.
- No loud music that disturbs others.
- No soliciting, littering, spitting, or relieving
yourself.
- No vandalism of MARTA property. Damaging fare gates is
a felony offense and violators will be prosecuted.
- No violent, threatening, or rude behavior.
Customers can use the
new MARTA app to plan their trip or report problems.
