Starting in 2021, MARTA has worked with the community to fully redesign the bus network to improve its service to
get people where they want and need to go. The redesign was shaped by the vision of MARTA’s Board of Directors with guidance and input from our customers, jurisdictional partners, and members of the
public to reflect the changing nature of the Atlanta region.
Why redesign the bus network?
- Meet the changing demographics and development patterns within MARTA’s service area
- Improve access to jobs, education, and essential services
- Improve efficiency to provide better service with similar resources
