Five Points Station Rehabilitation

Current Status 

Complete. Some minor punch-list tasks in progress through Fall 2026.

Project Overview 

At the heart of downtown Atlanta, Five Points is MARTA’s busiest station and the central transfer point between all rail lines. Enhancing safety and overall customer experience, this rehabilitation project includes a full renovation of both the East-West and North-South platform levels downstairs below the concourse level.  

Two Projects, One Station (Station Rehabilitation and Transformation)

Project Features 

• New ceiling and wall surfaces
• New LED lighting for a brighter, safer, and more energy-efficient station 
  Improved platforms, including new flooring, that are easier to maintain and longer lasting 
• New seating areas and trash receptacles on the platforms 
• Restoration and cleaning of the historic Eiseman Façade, which was saved (dismantled and rebuilt) during the demolition of several downtown Victorian department stores that made way for Five Points Station 
• New floor tile on stair/escalator landings spelling out the direction of travel to improve wayfinding and accessibility 
• New ceiling fans to help keep the station cool
