Phase One of service will feature:
- Service is from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. with the fee of $2.50 and free transfers. Service is free until May 2, when fare will be collected off board at Rapid A-Line stations only.
- New compressed natural gas (CNG) buses with Rapid A-Line branding.
- In areas where construction has been completed, buses will operate in dedicated lanes with transit signal priority.
- In areas under construction, temporary bus stops located near stations will be used.
- Bikes will not be allowed on buses during Phase One. MARTA is exploring options to safely introduce bikes at a later date.
Driver Safety with BRT:
Drivers, here’s what you need to know:
- There is NO driving, stopping, or parking in red lanes!
- Right turns are permitted from the striped, red sections of the bus only lanes. Watch out for buses and pedestrians as you turn.
- At some intersections, new traffic signals will allow buses to go through the intersection first. Wait for the bus to pass through the intersection and follow the normal GREEN light before proceeding.
Phase One Route Map:
The location of temporary stops may change as needed, but access to the full route will be available during Phase One of service.
Platform Stops:
For stations with platforms available, passengers will wait on the platform to board. When the bus comes to a complete stop, passengers can board at the front door.
Temporary Stop Locations:
Temporary stops are marked by a “New Bus Service” sign and labeled as part of the Rapid A-Line Route as shown in the image below. Temporary stops are near future station platforms. As platform construction finishes, temporary stops will be removed.
