The goal of Georgia Commute Options is to reduce the number of single passenger commuters who drive to and from work by themselves to congested areas within the Atlanta Metro Region. Georgia Commute Options promote additional commuter options named “Clean Commute Modes”. The different modes are: Transit, Carpooling, Vanpooling, Telework, Compressed Work Week/Flex Time, Bike/Walk.

MARTA and GA Commute options have common partners which are the Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) in the Metro Atlanta Region. Although there are (7) TMAs in the region, MARTA currently only partners with (3). See the (3) TMAs below who currently participate and sell passes(on behalf of MARTA) in the MARTA Partnership Program: Clifton Corridor TMA (Emory TMA), Perimeter Connects, and Livable Buckhead. .
TMAs promote the different “Clean Commute Modes” to employers within their designated TMA zone. TMAs are measured by increasing their clean commute percentage within their designated area. Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), whom provides funding to GA Commute Options/TMAs as well as establishes TMA Clean Commute Percentage Metrics, has an online GIS Map to determine if an employer’s address is within a TMA zone. If the company is within a TMA zone, the TMA can sell the MARTA monthly pass at a 20% discount ($76.00 instead of $95.00).
