Streetcar Cost per Passenger Trip

Definition: Measures operating cost of providing light rail service per unlinked light rail passenger boarding.

Performance (November 2025):

The calculated Cost per MARTA Streetcar Passenger Trip was $174.78, more than the forecast by $159.52 due ridership falling short of the forecast by 33,866 unlinked passenger trips. 

Note: Due to utility repair work along the streetcar alignment, streetcar service was temporarily suspended starting in September. In the meantime, shuttle vans are servicing all streetcar stops. Streetcar KPIs during the service suspension are based on the shuttle operating statistics.
