Performance (May 2019):
Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $2.97 in May was lower than the forecast
by $0.19, or 6%. This favorable variance was mostly due to operating expenses coming
under budget. The 2019 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through May) Cost
per Rail Passenger Trip of $3.15 matched the forecast, with rail ridership
shortage of 0.9 million unlinked passenger boardings offsetting operating
expenses coming under budget.
