Overview
MARTA renovated Indian Creek Station as a part of its State of Good Repair program. One of the key project features includes a newly opened pedestrian bridge which connects residents on Durham Park Road to the north side of the station. For residents in surrounding neighborhoods, this bridge is transformational. The new bridge significantly reduces travel time, provides a safe, accessible route into the station, and makes using transit more convenient.
The additional upgrades below are designed to make the station cleaner, safer, and more accessible for those who ride every day.
Key Project Features
- A new pedestrian bridge for access from Durham Park Road
- New wall paneling, metal doors, and door frames
- New lighting and illuminated signage at the platform, plaza, and concourse levels
- New landscaping, trash receptacles, and benches
- Pressure cleaning throughout the station
- Repairing and refinishing the existing wood barrel ceiling
- New concrete at the platform, plaza, and concourse levels
- New SMART Restroom for customers which use technology to keep the facilities safe and maintained
- New operator booth and restroom on the platform level
- New paving of the parking lot and bus loop, and redesigning for better traffic flow
- New copper gutter system
- New roof and wall paneling on the Police Precinct and the Traction Power Substation (TPSS) Building
- Repair of the windscreens at the platform level
