Definition: Bus Cost per Passenger Trip measures the total cost of providing bus service per unlinked passenger boarding.

 

Performance (April 2017):

The Cost per Bus Passenger Trip of $3.95 in April exceeded the forecast by $0.70, or 21.5%. This unfavorable variance was due to bus ridership falling short of the forecast by 0.6 million unlinked passenger trips and net over-runs of budgeted expenses. The 2017 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through April) Cost per Bus Passenger Trip of $3.63 exceeded the forecast by $0.32, or 9.7%. This unfavorable variance was due to bus ridership falling short of the forecast by 4.5 million unlinked passenger trips and net over-runs of budgeted expenses.
