Rail On-Time Performance

Definition: Measures how closely the service ran to schedule (delays no longer than 5 minutes), as experienced by the customer. Many factors affect on-time performance. Factors such as mechanical problems, or speed restrictions are within our control. Others like medical emergencies are not. Regardless of the cause, MARTA strives to work around problems, minimize delay, and maximize on-time performance.

Performance (January 2017):

In January, met the Target; the actual being 96.53%. Passenger (accidents/disturbances/medical emergencies) related issues caused 128 delays, those related to rail car failures caused 203 delays, those related to Automated Train Control (ATC) failures caused 117 delays and those related to weather caused 113 delays.
