Bus On-Time Performance

Definition: Measures how closely the service ran to the schedule, as experienced by the customer. Departure is considered on-time, if made between 0 and 5 minutes after scheduled departure time. 30 seconds are added to both ends of the 0 to 5 minute interval to capture deviations between the various time-tracking devices. Many factors affect bus on-time performance. Some are within MARTA’s control (e.g., mechanical or driver problems). Others, such as traffic or unplanned detours, are not. Regardless of cause, MARTA strives to work around problems.

Identify and analyze underperforming routes. ​
