MARTA Implements Bus Service Changes, August 5th

Transit Agency Modifications Help Improve frequency, Performance

ATLANTA— With a continued focus on safety improvements and overall performance excellence, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will implement 19 bus service modifications throughout its system. The Authority’s newly established route modifications are effective Saturday, Aug. 5

The recommendations, approved by MARTA’s Board of Directors, support the goal of improving the overall customer experience throughout the system based upon a comprehensive operations analysis of MARTA’s service. These modifications are reviewed three times a year.

MARTA regularly evaluates bus route performance including: scheduling, on-time performance, ridership and safety. Modifications were recommended based on feedback received from both customers and the Authority’s service analysis. The MARTA Act and MARTA Service Standards also require public input before implementation.

“MARTA remains committed to continuously improve our transit system by providing safe and efficient service to reach as many customers as possible,” said Benjamin Limmer, MARTA AGM of Planning. “These new changes allow us to better serve ridership by minimizing potential delays and supporting our major activity centers.”
