A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Although the process for reporting and retrieving your belongings is straight forward, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • You only need to report your lost item once. When you report your lost item, please give as much detail as possible to help us match your description to recovered items turned into Lost and Found.
  • If we receive an item that matches the description you’ve provided, we’ll we will contact you for additional information and verification.
  • Identified items must be claimed in person with a valid photo ID. If you’re unable to retrieve your item personally, please contact our office to discuss the requirement for a notarized letter authorizing someone else to retrieve the item for you. This person will need to provide a photo ID.
  • Recovered items are stored in Lost and Found for a 30-day time period, then donated to charitable organizations or properly disposed of based on the type of item and its condition.
