Every MARTA trip comes with up to four transfers. This means you can change bus routes or switch from bus to train (and vice versa) without paying again.
You must use exactly the same payment method when transferring from bus to bus and bus to rail to ensure you are not charged additional fare. For example, if you tap your debit card on the bus, tap the same debit card at the faregate when transferring to rail. Please note that even if your bank card and mobile wallet are linked to the same bank account, the new system will read them as separate forms of payment and charge you additional fare for the transfer. So be sure to use the exact same payment method to avoid an extra charge.
Transfers for one-way bus and train trips only
Transfers cannot be used for round-trip travel — meaning you can’t exit a route and board the same route again at a later time without paying for another ride. Transfers do not apply to the Atlanta Streetcar.
Four transfers included
This applies to riders using Breeze cards or tickets and tap to pay.
