Police Operations is responsible for the daily delivery of police services in field operations. Police Operations main objective is to preserve life and protect the MARTA system against criminal/terrorist activity and to provide a safe and secure environment for customers and employees throughout the system. Police Operations utilizes M*PACT (MARTA Police Proactively Attacking Crime Trends) to effectively deploy personnel to the areas within the Authority where crime is likely to occur. The assessment of manpower and deployment strategies is a process that takes place daily. Police Operations is also responsible for special events planning. Police Operations areas of responsibility
