Kids In Transit Summer Program

Kids in Transit is a one week summer program for youths between the ages of 12 and 16. This program, provided by donations, allows participants to be exposed to all facets of police work, participate in police instructed life skills courses and uniquely touring themed locations within the metro city areas. Education on using the MARTA system is included through field trips and scavenger hunts. Presentations and activities will include strategies for conflict resolution, cultural diversity and community service. Emphasis will be placed on positive character traits of courtesy, professionalism, respect and teamwork. These objectives will be accomplished through the volunteer services of MARTA police officers and others utilizing classroom activities, practical exercises, lectures and field trips.
