DEBUTS FREE WI-FI ON BUSES AND TRAINS

Lite Allows Riders to Browse Web, Connect to Social Media
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) now has free Wi-Fi on all buses and trains. The new connection allows riders to browse the web, send e-mails, read e-books, and connect to social media sites such as Facebook and
Twitter.
To use Wi-Fi on MARTA:
- Go to your Wi-Fi settings and select the network name based on your rail car number or bus (e.g. MARTA_Rail_Guest_673 or MARTA_Bus_Guest).
- Review and accept the terms and conditions to connect to the internet.
- If you move from one mode or transportation or from one railcar to another, you will need to re-open your settings and select the proper Wi-Fi network.
Wi-Fi Lite relies on cellular-based technology and speeds will vary throughout the route. Downloading large files or streaming video is prohibited due to limited bandwidth.
MARTA is expanding Wi-Fi and cellular services to include all 38 rail stations. Installation has been completed at Five Points, Peachtree Center, and Dome Stations. MARTA Mobility vehicles will have access by mid-year.
As with any Wi-Fi source, our riders are asked to be cautious about transactions performed and information they choose to share.
