This map displays the entire MARTA Rail system overlaid with the major Freeways in and around Atlanta. Each station is indicated with its location on the system, its name and reference number (such as "N7" for the 7th station on the North line -- all these numbers begin at Five Points station), and whether long term parking is available and how much long term parking costs. The map is a stylized, graphic design using broad lines to represent freeways, and broad colored lines to represent the rail lines. The North-South line is red and the East-West line is blue. Stations are indicated with circles on the rail lines, with the station name and abbreviation next to the circle. Stations with for-pay long-term parking are indicated by large, colored ovals onthe line, with the parking fee in the oval. Stations with parking for 3 dollars are indicated with black ovals, while stations with parking for 6 dollars are red ovals. Stations with free parking are represented by larger white circles with a "P" in the circle.

The system is made up of two main lines, the North-South and East-West lines, that intersect at Five Points Station. Additionally, a spur breaks off towards the East from the North-South line at Lenox Station (NE7), creating the Northeast line, and a single station stands off from the East West line (breaking between Ashby and West Lake Stations (W3 and W4)) forming the Proctor Creek Line. All of this forms a rough, south-pointing cross that divides the interior of the circle formed by Interstate 285 into quadrants.
The North-South Line begins in the south at the Airport (roughly in the middle of the triangle formed by Interstate 85, Interstate 75 and Interstate 285), and runs parallel with Interstate 75, bending as it crosses Interstate 20 to head into Five Points Station. It then continues north through downtown (intersecting Interstate 75 at Civic Center Station), then parallelling Interstate 85 for a short distance before running alongside Georgia 400 up to its northern end at North Springs Station (N11).
The Northeast Line begins at the point where the North-South line joins Georgia 400, and continues parallel to Interstate 85 all the way out to Interstate 285 and the end of the line at the Doraville Station (NE10).
In the East, the East-West line begins at Indian Creek Station just east of Interstate 285 and heads straight across the city, crossing Interstate 75/85, through Five Points Station, then continuing straight out to the western end of the line at Hamilton E. Holmes Station, which is just west of the intersection with Interstate 20 and just inside the Interstate 285 circle.
The Proctor Creek line moves along the same line from King Memorial Station in the East, going through Five Points Station before breaking off just past the Ashby Station to end at Bankhead Station (P4).
